When riding an escalator, passengers should keep their feet away from the edges of the steps, stand within the safety warning border of the step tread, and hold onto the handrail. Before boarding, tie your shoelaces and be mindful of loose or trailing clothing to prevent it from being caught on the edges of the steps; if the handrail and steps are not moving in sync, adjust your hand position as needed. Do not let your clothes or shoes touch the glass or gaps between the steps, to avoid unnecessary injury caused by getting caught during step movement.
